Temperament: The Miniature Dachshund can form a close bond with family, but can be reserved around others and bark. They love attention and are outgoing, energetic, independent, and sometimes clownish.
Coat/Care: This breed also can be either short- or long-haired. The long-haired types do require a bit more trimming.
Training/Activity: Miniature Dachshunds don't need much exercise - running around in the yard or a short walk in enough. They need consistent training as they can be a bit stubborn, but should be trained gently.
BICHON FRISE *
Size: This breed usually grows to between 7 and 12 lbs. The shoulder height is usually 9-12 inches.
Temperament: The Bichon Frise is described as sensitive, affectionate, and playful. It is a perky and happy dog that loves cuddling and companionship. They can have spikes of energy and are usually friendly with children and other dogs.
Coat/Care: They have a white colored double coat. Bichons are very hypoallergenic and do not shed, making this a good breed for those with allergies. They do usually require grooming/trimming every 2 months.
Training/Activity: Bichons are very intelligent so easily trained for tricks, although house training may be harder. They need exercise every day such as vigorous playing indoors or a short walk outside.

SHIH TZU *
Size: This breed can get between 9 and 16 lbs. They grow to 10 inches at the shoulder.
Temperament: They can get along well with children and other types of dogs. The Shih Tzu is lovable, sociable, affectionate, and independent.
Coat/Care: They have a long double coat that is silky like human hair. They shed very gradually over time, making them hypoallergenic. If the coat is grown out to full 'show length', it requires a lot of combing. With hair kept shorter, upkeep is much less. They are susceptible to heat exhaustion so shouldn't be outside long in the heat.
Training/Activity: They can be stubborn so must be trained early, house training them can be a challenge.
Size: The Pomeranian weighs between 3-7 lbs and at the shoulder grows to 7-11 inches.
Temperament: They get along well with other dogs, and once used to them, children. They are loyal to their families and can be good guard dogs as they bark at unfamiliar things. They are both energetic and like to cuddle depending on the mood!
Coat/Care: This breed has a long, fluffy outer coat. Males shed once a year and females shed more often. They should be brushed several times a week.
Training/Activity: Pomeranians only need to run around the house or yard a bit, they do not require a lot of exercising. Their intelligence makes training them pretty easy, they do need training not to bark or stay underfoot as they may get stepped on.
Size: The smallest Toy Dogs, they usually are between 2 and 6.5 lbs and only reach 6-9 inches at the shoulder.
Temperament: Chihuahuas are brave, intelligent, and usually become very devoted to one member of the house. They will defend that member sometimes against others and can be reserved around strangers. They usually can live around other dogs or cats without a problem.
Coat/Care: They can either be long-haired, which require a bit more grooming, or short-haired. Chihuahuas do get cold easily and sometimes need coats or sweaters to keep them warm!
Training/Activity: Chihuahuas do not need more exercise than just running around the house. They are able to be trained, but it may be harder since they have small bladders.
